When I am really suffering, when the darkness overwhelms, I cry out to the LORD;
"Father, I would rather have any other form of pain."
I plead with God;
"If I have to suffer, please let it be in any other way. "
I implore;
"Remove this cup from me."
The familiar words of Jesus ring in my ears. In the face of tremendous suffering, He pleaded with the Father in the garden;
"Remove this cup from me..." But then Jesus continued; "...not my will but yours be done."
Can I follow the example that our LORD gave in the face of indescribable pain?
Can I take the next step of faith?
Can I surrender to the Father's will?
Can I surrender to the suffering?
